After setting up the database and preparing the WordPress CMS, It is finally time to install WordPress.

Here are the few easy steps of installing WordPress.

1. Visit the project’s domain or url

Using your favorite web browser, type the project’s domain or url in the address bar. If you are installing WordPress in a local computer, usually the project’s url will look like this, but if you are installing it in a live server it will look something like this,, or, it depends on where your WordPress files are located relative to your domain.

2. Select a language to install

The first screen to appear is the language selection screen where you will be ask what language you want to use in your website.


3. Enter database information

If you skip setting up wp-config.php in step 3 and 4 here, you will be required to enter the database information.


Change the database prefix which is optional but recommended for security purpose. Changing this after installation is a bit tricky so you better decide if you will change it or not.

A success message screen will appear after hitting submit to confirm that you had successfully connected to the database.


4. Fill in your website details

The next screen to appear is the website information screen where you will be ask to enter your website details and administrator’s login information.


It is recommended to use a valid email address because WordPress will use this for website notifications like important updates, comment moderation, and other important information.

For the privacy checkbox, ff you want your website get indexed by search engines after installation, check the privacy checkbox. But if you are installing WordPress locally or in a staging server, just leave it unchecked. You can always change this later.

5. Success

That’s all. A success screen will be displayed after you successfully install WordPress.
